The story's already changing, of course, as I work out the orbits and paths better: I realized that unless the Journeyman has an insanely fast revolution, it won't actually trace a diagonal path across the night sky— at least not one noticeable to the naked eye. Rather, it would rise further to the north each night/day, then swing back to the south, and eventually possibly not rise at all for a few days at its southernmost point. I'm still not sure if I'm going to worry about how that'd affect phases, my head's already about to explode. x.x
Also, I decided that the equatorial moon is the steadfast Lady that he always returns to. North Star may have to just be the North Star for now....
