So, KD's doing this 30 Day Worldbuilding Challenge ( http://www.web-writer.net/fantasy/days/days/01.html ), and I decided to join in. So I'm about to have the busiest week so far this year. It's only fifteen minutes, right? And I could use the creativity exercise.
Ha. We shall see.
"The first fifteen minute exercise is to write down all the different climates you can think of:"
Desert-West Texas
Desert-Sahara
Tundra
Rainforest-Tropical
Swamp
Forest-Temperate
Plains
Hill Country
Floodplains
Savannah
Mountains (mountains are a climate, right?)
Forest-Evergreen (Canada?)
Rainforest-Temperate
Desert-Antarctica
Ocean
"Then, go through that list and write one or two words that describe how that climate, either the word itself or the way the place itself may have made you feel, if you've been there before."
Desert-West Texas: hot, still, nostalgic
Desert-Sahara: dry, sandy, exotic
Tundra: cold :(
Rainforest-Tropical: hot, dark, full of life
Swamp: mysterious, mucky
Forest-Temperate: soothing, nostalgic
Plains: wide open, bright
Hill Country: adventuresome and/or cozy
Floodplains: ever-changing yet predictable
Savannah: wild, wide open
Mountains (mountains are a climate, right?): exhilarating
Forest-Evergreen (Canada?): Snowy, aromatic
Rainforest-Temperate: wet, foggy, cool
Desert-Antarctica: Cold, desolate
Ocean: Limitless, more than it seems
Totally mixed up how I think it feels with how it makes me feel all over the place, but oh well. I save this and carry on tomorrow!
Lot longer than 15 minutes, but I was perpetually distracted.
